The Alustra® Collection
Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller Shades
An understated, elegant alternative to a roller or solar screen shade. Globally sourced fabrics with a visible weave, in more than seventy colorways.
Woven Textures sits in The Alustra® Collection, Hunter Douglas's designer tier. It is a roller shade in operation, but the fabric is the point: globally sourced, textured, and chosen so the shade reads as a considered material rather than a flat screen. There are more than seventy fabric and color choices. Discount Best Blinds and Shutters is an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer and measures and installs the Alustra Collection throughout Sonoma County.

Alustra® Woven Textures® Roller Shades for Sonoma County Homes
A standard roller shade is a flat plane of fabric, and on a large window that plane can read as blank. Woven Textures keeps the mechanism and changes the surface: the weave catches light across the face of the shade, so the same opening holds more visual interest without adding pattern or color to the room. Lowered against daylight, the texture is what you see, which is the reason to specify it over a plain roller.
It is an alternative to a solar screen rather than a replacement for one. Where the whole job is glare control on a screen-facing office window, a solar fabric with a stated openness factor is the more direct answer. Woven Textures is for the rooms where the shade is part of the decoration and still has to work. With more than seventy fabrics in the range, the selection is done at the window with samples rather than from a card.

Frequently Asked Questions
Alustra is Hunter Douglas's designer tier: a curated range of exclusive fabrics, finishes and hardware offered across several of their product lines rather than a product in itself. An Alustra version of a shade uses materials that are not available in the standard line. Woven Textures and Architectural Roller Shades are the two roller shades within it.
The mechanism is the same; the fabric is not. Woven Textures uses globally sourced textured fabrics with a visible weave, so the shade has surface interest where a standard roller is a flat plane. There are more than seventy fabric and color choices. If the requirement is purely functional glare control, our Designer Roller and Solar Shades cover that at a lower cost.
