Meet Phil D. Skikos of Discount Best Blinds and Shutters
Phil D. Skikos is the owner and customer contact behind Discount Best Blinds and Shutters. His work centers on helping homeowners and businesses compare custom blinds, shades, shutters and motorized options at the windows where the products will actually be used.
Based at the Santa Rosa location, Phil handles consultations, measurements and product recommendations across the Sonoma, Napa and Marin service areas listed on this site.
Instead of asking customers to make every decision from a small showroom sample, Phil reviews the room, window orientation, trim, privacy needs and preferred operating style on site. That makes it easier to compare color, texture and opacity in the lighting where the finished treatment will live.
The recommendation can also change by room. A home may use cellular shades in bedrooms, shutters in another area and solar or sheer products where glare or views matter. The point is to build a practical plan rather than repeat the same product throughout the house.

What Phil specializes in
Large and difficult window openings: custom measurement and compatible roller, solar, sheer or panel systems for large glass, tall windows and openings where standard retail sizing is not practical.
Older and non-standard windows: deep trim, arched openings and inconsistent sizes are evaluated for mounting conditions, then matched to treatments that improve privacy and light control without unnecessarily altering visible character.
Motorized shade options: motorization can simplify large groups of windows and hard-to-reach openings, with compatibility confirmed for the specific product before ordering.
Solar control for sun-exposed interiors: shading fabrics selected to reduce direct sun, glare and UV exposure to floors, furnishings and artwork. Sensitive wine or collections still need environmental control beyond the window treatment itself.
Hunter Douglas product access: current product families, fabrics, operating systems, product documentation and applicable manufacturer warranty support.
In-home consultations across the Sonoma, Napa and Marin communities listed on this site, scheduled from the Santa Rosa location. Availability depends on the project address and current schedule, so timing is confirmed when booking.
